What are the challenges and benefits of strengthening paternal care? In the month in which the law was passed that increases paternity leave for employees of corporate citizens from 5 to 20 days, the Rede Nacional Primeira Infância (RNPI), of which Promundo is part, launches a series of videos about the involvement of men in the care of young children.

Marco Aurélio Martins, executive coordinator of Instituto Promundo is among the experts interviewed, addressing the relationship between men's involvement in fatherhood and care and public safety, from the perspective of prevention. In his speech, Marco Aurélio states that “a child who sees a man at home who is also a caregiver, who shares domestic tasks, who is an equitable man, the tendency is for him to be a more equitable adult as well.”

The video series features testimonies from over 10 experts, including public managers, representatives of civil society organizations and universities. The testimonies cover topics such as the denaturalization of care, sexist culture, paternity and social inequality, paternity leave, feminism and the role of public managers in promoting paternity.

The videos, averaging two minutes in length, are available on the RNPI website and YouTube channel , and were recorded during the 1st National Seminar on Fatherhood and First Childhood, which took place in 2015, in Rio de Janeiro.
