
The Promundo Institute was the co-organizer of the 2017 Forum Sexual Violence Research Initiative – SVRI. For the first time in Latin America, the SVRI Forum took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from the 18th to the 21st of September 2017, bringing together researchers, gender equity activists, funders, policymakers, professionals and survivors of sexual violence from across the Latin America and Caribbean region.
The 2017 SVRI Forum intended to serve as a space for presentation and discussion on research and innovation in the field of sexual violence prevention, which allowed participants to learn about and learn about new interventions tested to end sexual violence, intimate partner violence and abuse and mistreatment of children and adolescents.
The various forms of participation in the SVRI Forum included: abstract presentations, plenary and networking sessions, poster presentations, side events, among others.
The Forum is also co-organized by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and FioCruz/Instituto Fernandes Figueira (FioCruz/IFF).
