Child Subject to Rights promotes awareness among parents and caregivers about children's rights and the consequences of physical and humiliating punishments for them. As part of this program, Promundo developed the educational curriculum For the end of physical and humiliating punishments , with activities designed to promote reflections among fathers, mothers and other caregivers. To complement group awareness-raising workshops, facilitators can use the video Once Upon a Family , which illustrates the common challenges of educating children from infancy through adolescence.
The program was designed and launched by Promundo and partners in 2005 with support from the Bernard Van Leer Foundation and Save the Children Sweden.

An impact evaluation of the program was carried out with parents from three low-income communities in Rio de Janeiro between 2005 and 2007. The results of the study indicated a reduction in the use of physical punishment against children and an increase in knowledge about non-violent forms of education.

Promundo is also a member of the Não Bata, Eduque network, which is supported by organizations that work to defend the rights of children and adolescents in Brazil. The network aims to raise awareness among parents and caregivers about the negative consequences of physical and humiliating punishments for children. It also promotes discussions about domestic violence, using visual arts, music and theater to mobilize children, young people and adults.

As part of the Don't Beat, Educate campaign, Promundo launched the children's book Vento no Rosto in 2013 , which promotes non-violent education from the perspective of children. Twelve boys and girls from the community of Maré, Rio de Janeiro, aged between six and thirteen, created the book, sharing ideas about how they would like to be educated without the use of violence.

In 2014, Vento no Rosto won the 3rd Annual Avon Communications Award, which recognizes organizations whose innovative communications strategies help transform communities, institutions, policies and behaviors and prevent and end violence against women and children.

Continuing the series of children's books to promote non-violent and equitable education, also in 2014 Promundo launched Chutando Pedrinhas , which deals with the relationship between a father and his daughter and how some gender standards limit this girl's desires and dreams for reserve specific roles for men and women in society. The story is the product of the collective creation of 17 girls living in Morro dos Prazeres, Rio de Janeiro.
